On December 28, 2021, the on-site promotion meeting of the first batch of Science and Technology Innovation centers of Shanxi Provincial Department of Transportation was held. The meeting was presided over by Zhang Junsheng, director of Science and Technology Department, Department of Transportation. Dong Xiaoqiang, dean of The School of Civil Engineering, Zhang You, director of the Department of Road and Bridge Engineering and other main responsible personnel of the center attended the meeting and made exchange speeches. At the meeting, the first batch of Science and Technology Innovation Centers were awarded by the Provincial Department of Transportation, and the "Shanxi Transportation Higher Education Research Center" built by the road, bridge and river crossing engineering specialty of our university was successfully approved.

Sci-tech innovation center is an important means for Shanxi Provincial Department of Transportation to make breakthroughs in sci-tech innovation, crucial method of promoting the construction of sci-tech innovation system and improving the implementation of sci-tech achievement transformation. Under the guidance of "National comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network planning outline", the leadership of the college attaches great importance to the application and construction of the transportation science and technology innovation center. The approval of the Science and Technology Innovation Center is the first department-level and above scientific research innovation platform for the major of Road, Bridge and River Crossing engineering in our university since the resumption of enrollment in 2017, and it has played an exemplary role in promoting the construction of civil engineering discipline and road, bridge and river crossing engineering specialty in the 14th Five-year Plan.

Shanxi Transportation Higher Education Research Center focuses on Shanxi transportation higher education and transportation research, focusing on practical teaching and reform of transportation higher education, construction and reform of discipline competition system of transportation industry higher education, new technology, new technology and new material composite talent training mode in construction, maintenance, operation management and intelligent transportation under the new situation of transportation power.
